The
Dutch company FMO and M Sahabuddin Ahmed (founder chairman) together started
the first joint venture bank of Bangladesh named Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited
(DBBL). It was established under the Bank Companies Act 1991 and incorporated
as a public limited company under the Companies Act 1994. It is one of the
popular and famous private banks in the country. The bank is helping specially
the manufacturing sectors of the country to export products worldwide. The DBBL
is one of the largest bank donors in Bangladesh and the bank is pioneer in
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) area.
Dutch
Bangla Bank is the first bank that started modern and Electronic-Banking services
which got popularity rapidly in the country, started in 2002. The bank operates
the nation's largest ATM fleet. Due to their mass automation in banking system,
most local banks in the country have joined Dutch Bangla Bank banking
infrastructure. Dutch-Bangla Bank stock set the record for the highest share
price in the Dhaka Stock Exchange in 2008. At present there are 180 branches of
DBBL across the country.

Rocket (Dutch-Bangla Mobile Banking) is a popular mobile banking service
in Bangladesh. Using Rocket MFS (Mobile Financial Service) the user can make
money transactions such as cash-in, cash out, merchant payment, utility bill
payment, salary disbursement, receive foreign remittance, government allowance
disbursement, ATM money withdrawal through mobile devices.
