Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve | Ispahani Public School and College

I used to search on the internet a lot to find out recently launched web portal of any Educational Institutions such as School, College, Madrasha or University in Comilla district. I have already posted some review articles about the official web portal of some Education Institutions in comilla such as, Comilla University, Comilla Victoria College, Three Medical College and Hospitals in comilla etc.

Now in this post I will give a little review about another official web portal of the famous School & College in Comilla Cantonment: Ispahani Public School & College. The web portal is rich in information's which will be very helpful for the student of IPSC. I have attached two screenshot of the website, click on these screenshot to enlarge.

The motto of the College is "Enter to learn, Leave to serve"

Ispahani Public School and College, Comilla Cantonment is one of the Prime class institutions in the region. The institution has successfully completed its journey of more than 45 years. During this journey the institution has turned many brilliants in to a worthy citizen who are now well established in the society and doing better job for the country.

The institution has been successful in creating a tradition in quality teaching which has become a pride possession of all Ispahanians. Results of S.S.C and H.S.C exams have all along been commendable. It stands on 9.3 acres of land at the north-east corner of the main Cantonment area. It is about 100 yards to the south of the Dhaka – Comilla - B Baria Highway junction. The College has a spectacular building to house the academic classes and the hostel.

Little History and Background:
Cantonment Public School was initially set up in Comilla Zilla School located in the Comilla Town in September 1962. It was an English Medium Co-education School starting from KG-1 to class X. The history of its development is as under:
  • It was shifted to present Cantonment Board High School location in January 1963.
  • Hostel facility was introduced in April 1963 using the Engineers Battalion Line in the Comilla Cantonment presently 101 Brigade Sainik Line.
  • The first batch appeared at the SSC (Secondary School Examination) exam in the year 1964.
  • The Institution was renamed as Mainamati Public School in June 1965.
  • The foundation stone was laid by Maj Gen Fazal Muqueem Khan, GOC 14 Division.
  • Late Mr. Mirza Ahmed Ispahani constructed the present building and the school was renamed as Ispahani Public School in September 1966.
  • In 1971 during the War of Liberation the school was closed and was used as a concentration camp. At that time Lt. Col. Amil, a non-Bengalee officer, was the Principal of the school. Eleven teachers of the School were killed by the Pakistani Army in the Liberation War.
  • The institution re-started in February 1972 as a Bengali Medium Co-Educational School.
  • A separate Intermediate College was set up in the July 1975 in the Cantonment Boys School.
  • The College was merged with the School in October 1975 and finally named as Ispahani Public School and College.
  • Degree classes on Science and Arts were opened in 1995 with only 12 (twelve) number of students and were closed down in 1996.
  • On establishment of the Kindergarten School in the Cantonment area in December 1997, the Nursery and KG classes had been dropped from the school.
  • Admission to the hostel was closed in January 1998 for students’ poor standard of discipline which caused a fall of income and the hostel was re-started in July 1999.
  • An English Medium Section in Class-VI started from the academic session 2005.
  • A Lt. Col. from AEC is being posted as Principal Since Nov 1999.

Aims and Objectives of the Institution:
  • To build the students as worthy citizens of the country by developing their physical and mental potentials as well as inculcating in them moral and ethical values such as honesty, integrity, patriotism, kindness, fellow feelings etc.
  • To flourish their mental and intellectual faculties to the fullest extent through a system of balanced and liberal education, making them more competent by arousing their interests in both curricular and co-curricular activities as well as to ensure better performances in all public examinations.
  • To make the students painstaking and studious by curbing their dependence on extra Tutors.
  • To unfold the students creativity, culture and innovative.

Readers,
After completing my SSC exam, I was tried to get admitted in this college but I was unable to get chance in the admission test as an Intermediate Student (HSC). Most of the information’s in this post has been collected from the web portal. You are requested to visit the portal, it will be very helpful for the current students and the future students (who want to study in this institution) of Ispahani Public School & College.
