Comilla University | At a Glance

Established in 2006, the 26th public university in Bangladesh is the Comilla University. The campus is located beside the famous and ancient Shalban Bihar, Kotbari and constructed around 50 acres of land.  After a long wait and public demand of the peoples of the regions, the University was founded. In the history of higher education in Bangladesh, the Comilla University has become a milestone.

This educational institution is moving towards achieving academic excellence in the higher education sector in the country. Soonest the education quality of the university will become international standards we hope.

Comilla University at a Glance:

• Chancellor: Mr. Md. Abdul Hamid, Honorable President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh

• Vice-Chancellor: Founder VC was Professor Dr. Golam Mowlah, Present VC Professor Dr. Emran Kabir Chowdhury

• Starting: Inauguration on 8th February 2006, Established on 28th May 2006 and Class started on 28th May 2007.

• Location: Near Shalban Bihar, Kotbari, Comilla, Bangladesh

• Faculties: Faculty of Science, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Business Studies, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Law.

• Departments: Started with Seven functional Departments including: English, Economics, Public Administration, Mathematics, Management Education, Accounting and Information Systems, Marketing.

• Present Departments: At present there are total 21 departments in Comilla University these are: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, Pharmacy, Forestry and Environmental Science, English, Bengali, Archaeology, Economics, Public Administration, Anthropology, Mass Communication and Journalism, Management Education, Accounting and Information Systems, Marketing, Finance and Banking, Human Resource Management, Computer Science and Engineering, Information and Communication Technology and Law.

• Resident Hall: Kazi Nazrul Islam Hall, Shahid Dhirendra Nath Dutta Hall, Nawab Foyzunnesa Chowdhurany Hall, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall.

• Medical Center Facility: Dr. Mahmudul Hasan Khan - Medical Officer, Dr. Md. Belayet Hossain Bhuyan - Assistant Medical Officer, Dr. Mahmuda Akter - Assistant Medical Officer, Dr. A.K.M Helal Morshed - Assistant Medical Officer.

• Cultural Organizations: Theatre - Comilla University, Protiborton, Bangladesh udichi Artists Group - Comilla University Branch.
