Cumilla Victoria Government College | best in Chittagong Division



Established in 1899 by the Landlord of British Period on 24 September 1899, the Comilla Victoria Government College is one of the best renowned and oldest educational institutions in the country. Roy Bahadur Ananda Chandra Roy is the founder of this famous institution. It is under the direct supervision of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education under the Ministry of Education of Bangladesh Government.

In the National University Rankings Performance the Comilla Victoria Government College has become the best in Chittagong division for the year 2017. The college has secured a score of 62.46 out of 100.




Both in the government and private sector, the rest top colleges in Chittagong division are Feni Government College with a score of 60.03, Chittagong Government College with a score of 59.94, Government City College with a score of 57.27, Chittagong Government College with a score of 56.00, Noakhali Government College with a score of 54.56, Hathazari College, Chittagong with a score of 54.41, Government Haji Muhammad Mohsin College, Chittagong with a score of 53.52, Chittagong Government Women's College with a score of 53.01 and Chandpur Government College with a score of 52.34.

At a press conference on 25th February 2019, at the VC office on the main campus of the National University of Bangladesh, Gazipur, the Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Harun-or-Rashid announced the ranking on the basis of 31 indicators (Key Performance Indicator-KPI). The Vice Chancellor said that the main focus is on the ranking of college infrastructure, education environment, quality of teachers, exam results, libraries, ICT support, classmate etc.





Prof Harun said, the best government college has been Rajshahi College, Best Private College - Dhaka Commerce College, Best Women's College - Lalmatia Women's College. Apart from this, 68 colleges were selected from each of the eight divisional areas.

The Vice Chancellor said, the best colleges of the country will be rewarded by organizing 'Education rally' at the auditorium of the capital's parent country on March 2, 2019.
